Selenium is an element that plays an important role in reproduction, thyroid hormones, DNA formation and protects against oxidative damage and infections.


It is found in Brazil nuts, cashews, soy, lentils, oatmeal, mushrooms, chickpeas, peanuts ...


Recommended daily intake (RDI) is 55 µg/day for a grown-up person and a little less for children, from 15 to 30 µg/day.


Bioavailability is very high, from 70 to 90 %.
