Phosphorus is involved in bone and tooth mineralization (about 85% is found only in bones and teeth), metabolism and energy storage, it's important for maintaining acid-base balance, it's a part of cell membranes, nucleotides and nucleic acids in DNA and RNA.
Sources of phosphorus are seeds, nuts, soy, lentils, chickpeas, beans, wheat, mushrooms ...
Recommended daily intake (RDI) is 700 mg/day for a grown-up person. Children up to three years of age need 500 mg/dan, aged from three to eight years need 800 mg/dan. Pregnant women and breastfeeding moms need to consume it in higher amounts. Pregnant women 800 mg/day, and breastfeeding moms 900 mg/day.
